Webinaire organisé dans le cadre des projets européens CFD - Climate Farm Demo et CSA - Climate Smart Advisors. EN ANGLAIS UNIQUEMENT !

How can genetic evaluations help us better understand and manage methane emissions in cattle? And, more importantly, how can we combine genetics, herd management and environmental performance?

During this webinar, organised as part of CSA and CFD, we will explore three key questions:

  • Genetic evaluation of methane emissions - What indicators are currently available, and what data and methods are they based on?
  • Genetics & herd management - Based on CAP2ER data, what links can we identify between CH₄ emissions, farming practices and genetics? What common characteristics can be found among the lowest-emitting dairy farms?
  • Looking ahead - What are the prospects for genetics as a lever to reduce methane emissions? And what questions remain, particularly regarding how methane emissions should be expressed?

Speakers: Paulin Martin, INRAE & Manon Guillerm, IDELE.

Chair/moderator: Benoît Rouillé, IDELE.

Join us to discuss current advances and future perspectives on how genetic selection can contribute to reducing methane emissions in cattle farming.
